Meet The Conductor |

Dan Rager is an international award winning composer and conductor in the educational field of wind and orchestral literature. His analysis and work in the music business has led to commissions and awards from the American Composers Forum, Cleveland Composers Guild, ASCAP, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation and the Target Foundation to name a few. He conducts annual tours in major cities throughout the United States, Europe, Amsterdam and Russia. Currently, he is music professor at Indiana Wesleyan University (Independence, OH), Lakeland College (Kirtland, OH) and Chairman of the composition committee for the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs. Rager holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in theory and composition from Cleveland State University. To his credits, many of his works have been selected for solo, ensemble, band and orchestra contest list’s throughout the United States. He has over 100 compositions and arrangements published by Warner Bros, BAS Publ., Great Works Publishing, Ludwig Music Publishing and others. His music has been performed and recorded by The Cleveland Orchestra, The Cleveland Chamber Symphony, The United States Navy Band, Frederick Fennell's Symphonic Winds, The Washington Winds, The Cleveland Philharmonic Winds, The Dallas Wind Symphony, The Lakeland Civic Concert Band & Orchestra, The Norway Marine Home Guard Band, The Saratov Wind/orchestra of Russia, Surgut Wind/orchestra of Siberia and The Choral Arts Society Choir to name a few. Mr. Rager is a member of the Conductors Guild, American Composers Forum, The Cleveland Composers Guild, the International Trumpet Guild and the Brass Quarterly. His ideologies and music reviews can be read in the J. S. Bach library and several journals including The Brass Quarterly and The International Trumpet Guild. |
